participating in a business transaction in Costa Rica,
whether involving a real estate deal or not, the rules
of conflict of interest and the sound practice of avoiding
it are as applicable in this country as they are on your
own.
In
many cases, investors tend to forget these principles,
which they would probably apply when doing business at
home, and often, in the heat of the moment, rush themselves
into deals that might not be in their best interest.
Using
the same attorneys as your counterparts in the transaction
or as the real estate agent involved in it usually leaves
you unprotected or under protected vis-à-vis the
many conflicting needs and requirements of such parties.
